Québec, with its French heritage and Gallic traditions, offers a unique mix of wildlife and culture. Montreal and Québec City are both vibrant and exciting cities and an essential addition to the beginning or end of your holiday. The St. Lawrence River is home to migrating whales during the summer, including the blue whale – the largest in the world. The Gaspé Peninsula to the south of the river and Charlevoix to the north are wonderful areas to enjoy touring, wildlife, canoeing and kayaking in the summer, and dog sledding, snowmobiling and skiing in the winter.
Charlevoix and Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean
This vast region stretches from Québec City to Tadoussac at the mouth of the Saguenay Fjord, and includes the Rivière Saguenay the Lac Saint-Jean. The region’s majestic fjord and the vast forests and lakes to the north make this a destination brimming with adventure: hiking, rafting, cycling, off-roading, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, dog sledding, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, and much more!
Îles-de-la-Madeleine
The Îles-de-la-Madeleine are located in the middle of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. During the winter, snow and ice transform this half moon-shaped archipelago into a beautiful lunar landscape. The end of February signals the annual return of thousands of harp seals who give birth on the ice floes around the islands.
