Day 1 |  Arrival

Meet and greet at Juan Santamaria International airport and private transfer to your hotel in San José.

Day 2 |  Heredia to San Gerardo de Dota

Breakfast Included at the Hotel.

Beginning of this interesting itinerary that will take you to visit some of the most famous birding spots in the country. This isolated cloud forest is the perfect escape for birders and nature enthusiasts that enjoy hikes in secluded paths, the cool and breezy weather, the personalized service of small lodges and real natural encounters.

Day 3 |  San Gerardo de Dota – Bird Watching Day

Full day for bird watching with your private guide.

Day 4 |  San Gerardo de Dota to Turrialba

Turrialba Volcano is one of the active volcanoes in Costa Rica that can be visited, but more than that, this destination is home of the world-renowned Pacuare River and some archaeological monuments and indigenous territories.

Day 5 |  Bird Watching at Rancho Naturalista

Day to explore the private reserve and do some bird watching.

Day 6 |  Turrialba to Selva Bananito

Night in Selva Bananito Ecolodge, Superior Room, all meals included

Day 7 |  Selva Bananito – Bird Watching Day

Full day in Selva Bananito Reserve.

Full day for bird watching in Costa Rica with your private guide. You can also choose one of these tours: Rainforest tour, introductory tree-climbing or horse ride through the farm.

Day 8 |  Selva Bananito to Sarapiquí

After breakfast, departure to another famous birding spot in Sarapiquí.

Sarapiqui is one of the most important bird birdwatching sites in Costa Rica and the home to several organizations dedicated to the study and investigation of wildlife– the perfect place for nature lovers.

Night in Selva Verde Lodge, Bungalow, all meals included.

Day 9 |  Sarapiquí Bird Watching Day

Full day for bird watching with your private guide in the grounds of the hotel or in other birding spot in the area.

Days 10 |  Sarapiquí to Boca Tapada

After breakfast, departure to the northern plains, next to San Carlos River.

Night in Maquenque Lodge, Standard room, all meals included

Day 11 |  Boca Tapada - Bird Watching Day

Full day for bird watching with your private guide in the grounds of the lodge.

Night in Maquenque Lodge, Standard room, all meals included

Day 12 |  Boca Tapada to Central Valley

After breakfast, drive back to the Central Valley.

Day 13 | Departure

Breakfast at the hotel. Private transfer to the International Airport on time to take your flight back home or continue your bird watching adventure in Costa Rica with a stay in the Osa Peninsula or if you prefer, you can select a beautiful beach stay.
